چکیده

Background Previous studies on homocysteine have verified higher may adversely influence cognition performance in individuals with subjective cognitive decline (SCD), whereas the potential mechanisms for this relationship are still unclear. Method We analyzed data from 23 SCD enrolled 500 nm light therapy cohort who filled 12 items Everyday Cognition scale (ECog-12) and had plasma levels assessed at time of their baseline 3T MRI scans. Gyrification cortical thickness were obtained by using whole brain region interest (ROI)-based approach CAT12 toolbox (in SPM12). Statistical analyses used one-sample t-test including age sex as covariates. Regions significant group effects regions analyses. Result At corrected thresholds (p < 0.05, Holm-Bonferroni-corrected), there negative correlations between gyrification left temporal pole = 0.012000) right inferior sulcus 0.012268). For thickness, we found a positive correlation 0.032744). In addition, was self-report ECog-12 scores pole. Conclusion Homocysteine alters local surface shape lobule patients localized low imply impaired self-awareness everyday cognition.

The Measurement of Everyday Cognition

This article describes the development and validation of an instrument to assess cognitively mediated functional abilities in older adults, Everyday Cognition (ECog). The ECog is an informant-rated questionnaire comprised of multiple subscales. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was used to examine its factor structure. Convergent validity was evaluated by comparing it to established measures o...

Everyday Cognition and Situated Learning

Everyday cognition and situated learning investigates learning as an essentially social phenomena that takes place at the juncture of everyday interactions. These learning interactions are generated by the social relations, cultural history, and particular artifacts and physical dimensions of the learning environment. Brent Wilson and Karen Myers (2000) point out that there are distinct advanta...

Optimal predictions in everyday cognition.

Human perception and memory are often explained as optimal statistical inferences that are informed by accurate prior probabilities. In contrast, cognitive judgments are usually viewed as following error-prone heuristics that are insensitive to priors. We examined the optimality of human cognition in a more realistic context than typical laboratory studies, asking people to make predictions abo...

Leptin, Ghrelin, Adiponectin, Homocysteine and Insulin Resistance Related to Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

The relationship between leptin, adiponectin, ghrelin, homocysteine, insulin resistance and other biochemical factors in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is controversial. We review how the expanded role of these factors in reproduction might impact our understanding of PCOS. For purposes of our review, we accessed the PUBMED database during the past 10 years. Our review confirms tha...
